Named, Charles Lester Grace at birth but always called by my second name, Lester, I was born in Warrnambool, Victoria and graduated from Melbourne University in 1973. It was in Victoria that I became a passionate Geelong AFL supporter. I settled in Newcastle the following year, drawn by the magnificent beaches and climate. I have worked in the Newcastle CBD since then, over the years maintaining a friendly surgery atmosphere and providing personalised service.
DISRUPTIONS IN HUNTER AND WATT STS
Owing to the construction of a race track in our local streets there have been several disruptions to power, water and access. At the moment the intersection of Hunter and Watt street is closed completely. It will be opened, hopefully, later this week. We are told the intersection will be closed for most of November and possibly December as the footbridge over the race track will be positioned outside the surgery.
We apologise for any inconvenience and can only suggest driving the wrong way up Hunter St, from Bolton St, to park near the surgery.
PLEASE NOTE: THE SURGERY WILL NO LONGER BE OPEN ON SATURDAYS
TUESDAY OPENING HOURS HAVE CHANGED - CLOSING AT 4.00PM
WILLIAMTOWN PFAS CONTAMINATION
The Australian Government has announced that people who live or
work, or have lived or worked, in the Williamtown Investigation Areas are
eligible for a free blood test for Per- and Poly-fluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS).
The Australian Government
will fund a single voluntary PFAS blood test for those people who live or work,
or have lived or worked, in the investigation areas of Williamtown. This
includes people currently living elsewhere who previously lived or worked in this
area. Free blood testing will be available to eligible individuals
until 31 March 2018.
WILLIAMTOWN PFAS CONTAMINATION continued
To obtain a free blood test under this program, you will be required to sign a Statutory Declaration to confirm your eligibility. This Statutory Declaration will confirm that you currently live or work, or have previously lived or worked in one of the Investigation Areas. Free counselling sessions are also available for those who have suffered a decline in their mental health and wellbeing due to the prolonged stress caused by the contamination issues.
For further information on the process please contact the surgery and make an appointment to see me. This consultation will not incur any fees to you.
